HARD CONTACT
Published Saturday, October 3, 2026
Drake Baldwin is hitting 50.6% of his batted balls at 95+ mph this season, against a league rate near 39%. His barrel rate is 12.9%, so this is hard contact that is not all finding the ideal launch angle. He's facing Tarik Skubal tonight. Hard-hit rate counts a 105 mph ground ball the same as a 105 mph fly ball — it is the broader contact signal, not a home run signal on its own.
