Kyle Leahy misses plenty of bats but rarely pitches long enough to cash a big strikeout number. He is averaging 9.4 strikeouts per nine innings — the kind of rate that makes an over look easy — but only 4.5 innings a start across his last 15. Strikeouts need innings to accumulate in, and he is usually out before facing the lineup a third time. The strikeout rate is the number people look at; the workload is the one that decides it.
